Dr. Christian Friedrich Lebrecht Strack, religious poet and teacher was born in 1784 as a son of a headmaster. After finishing school in 1799 he moved to Leipzig to study theology where he became magister and sermonizerer of University Church in 1804. Since 1806 he worked as teacher in Halle and Wertheim before he started his career as professor for natural history and classical languages in Düsseldorf. Three years later, in 1817 he became the principal of the preschool in Bremen. He was well-known as editor of books for the use of schools, translations of classic literatur and as poet of two religious anthologies, "Eloah" 1814 and "Stunden der Einsamkeit" 1835 and he continued with the writing of some books concerning Preschool and Natural History until he died 1852.
